Diana Nyad arrives at Smather's Beach in Key West, Florida on Labor Day, September 2, 2013 after completing an unbelievable non-stop swim from Havana, Cuba to Key West Diana returns to Key West on Labor Day, September 1, 2014 and is presented a plaque which is to be mounted at Smather's Beach near where she finished, which was near beach access #6 The city of Key West finally mounted the plaque in February of 2015, but unfortunately mounted it at beach access #11 which is nearly a quarter mile from where it should be located. I started the process on February 26, 2015 to remove the plaque and remount it in its proper place near beach access #6.
