I had a chance to sit behind the wheel of a 1928 Model "A" Ford Tudor Sedan at Fort Zachary Taylor Historical State Park in Key West, Florida on January 13, 2016. The car has quite a history. The original owner, John Babcock, was born in 1863 when Abraham Lincoln was President during the Civil War. His wife was the daughter of T Jeff Carr who was the first territorial elected sheriff of Cheyenne in the Territory of Wyoming and as Sheriff personally arrested and hung Jack McCall, the man who shot and killed Wild Bill Hickok in Deadwood, Wyoming. John Babcock bought the car in 1928 and owned it until he died in 1958 at the age of 95. At that time M R Simpers, the current owner, bought the car. Mr. Simpers was 16 at the time. Currently Mr. Simpers and his wife live in Cocoa, Florida on Merritt Island and drove the car to Key West for a vacation.
